Limit data visibility of a PowerBI report based on Salesforce objects - Web version

Hello,

I have some datasets, based on Salesforce Objects, configured with scheduled refresh.

The datasets are configured with salesforce admin credentials.

All data is visible to admins, in Salesforce and in PowerBI. Standard users have a restricted visibility on records in Salesforce.

Is there any option to restrict the visibility of data in power bi, based on the user which is looking at the report?

Example:

10 accounts in the org, 5 with country Italy, 5 with country Germany. Country based sharing

Admin --> see 10 accounts in Salesforce and PowerBi

Italian Manager --> see 5 accounts in salesforce, 10 in PowerBI --> as the refresh is configured with admin credentials

ToBe: Italian Manager --> see 5 accounts in salesforce and PowerBi

Is there any way to get in the report only the data the user can see?

What is the best practice for this scenario?

A solution could be to share different report tabs, with different filters (1 per country in the example), but I see it more as a Workaround, also not easy to manage in case something in the report need to be updated.

Thank you for the support.

Best Regards,

Alessandro Orsini
