Hide Fact Table based on User in Tabular Model

Hi Team,

I have developed Tabular model and deployed to Power BI Premium Service using Visual Studio 2019. I want to provide security to one of Fact Table i.e I have list of restriced user in table called User.(Dimension). I want to hide Fact Table if particular user doesn't present in User. ( Exmaple: If user connects to Power BI Dataset then I want to hide fact table , if user doesn't present in User Table). Can you please tell how to achieve it.

Note: Fact Table dosn't have relationship to User Table.

Thanks,

Abhiram

Hi @abhiram342 ,

Please filter the Fact table using the following DAX.

IF ( NOT USERPRINCIPALNAME () IN VALUES ( 'User'[UPN] ), FALSE, TRUE )

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information or the expected result you expect. Let me know immediately, looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards,
Winniz

Hi @v-kkf-msft  - Thank you for response. RLS is working but OLS is not working. I want to hide the Fact table when the user is not present in User Table.

I want to control OLS based on User. I see the OLS security works based on Security Group on Power BI

Service.

Example:

I have created two roles Access and NoAccess . For No Access, I set the OLS for Fact as None.  and For Access Role, I set as Default.

We don't want to manually add folks to two groups. Instead , I want to control based on User Table.

Please let me know if there are any alternatives

Thanks,

Abhiram
