Filter a "pubish to public" report

I've seen companies the provide reports for data I use (like SurveyMonkey) in PowerBI. When I open them, I clearly see only my data, so I was wondering, how to I do that with a report of mine too ? I have a report I would like to publish to many people and I would therefore need to filter the data based on their user email or other user information, but I cannot have Row Level Security when a report is publish to public.

How do I do this ?

Hi  @davidbrunelle ,

Does the text "report is published to public." refer to a report published to the Web.

If so, Power BI does not support this feature at this time, and the official documentation for publish to web does not support reports using RLS, because when using "publish to web", anyone on the Internet can view the published report or visual object. Viewing does not require authentication and this sharing method is open and the level of data protection is low, whereas RLS is used to restrict access to data for a given user, which is a contradiction in terms of data protection.

You might consider using an Embed report approach to ensure that all permissions and data security are enforced when users view internal data:

Publish to web from Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
