Embed with report web part in SharePoint Online

Should the Reports be in the premium capacity to allow the free users to access the reports embedded in the SharePoint online?

For example, i am the Power BI pro users and have embedded the report in the SharePoint. If I want the free users to access the reports is it possible to do it?

Hi @Mtozero,

Current you have three methods to embed your reports.

3 ways to embed power bi

1. Publish to web.(no security, free to everyone, limit on datasource and visual type, an hour or above refresh delay)

Publish to web from Power BI

Limitations

Publish to web is supported for the vast majority of data sources and reports in the Power BI service, however, the following are not currently supported or available with Publish to web:

  1. Reports using row level security.
  2. Reports using Analysis Services Tablular hosted on premises.
  3. Reports shared to you directly or through an organizational content pack.
  4. Reports in a group in which you are not an edit member.
  5. "R" Visuals are not currently supported in Publish to web reports.

2. Power bi embed (support security settings, free to receivers, quick refresh interval)

3. Power bi Rest API.

Yes, the workspace that the report belongs to needs to be backed by premium capacity if free users should be able to view the report. Also they should be added as members of the same workspace. All this is according to the documentation found here link
