Hi all,
I wanted to understand Direct share Vs Reports Sharing with App and impact on capacity.
My organization is small with decent size BI environment with P1 capacity, I have been using security groups to Direct Share reports within the Org.
Recently I was informed that I was putting strain on capacity by direct sharing reports and not using apps. I cannot find any documentation supporting this.
I am reaching out to wider community to understand the best approach to share. or if someone can point me to some related documentation.
Thank you.

When a large number of users in the organization view the report at the same time, it may have an impact. Generally speaking, these two sharing methods have little effect on capacity. The impact on capacity does not lie in the sharing method, but in the file size, connection method and other aspects.

Hello, @JayR19
If you need to share multiple reports in the workspace to the same people, you can use 'Sharing with App', which can be managed and set together. If you only share a single report, sharing directly will be faster.
You can the document for details:

@v-janeyg-msft Thank you, and Yes Agreed. sharing would be easy to manage with app.
However if i shred 5 reports to say about 90 users would that have any impact on capacity? as in am i making capacity work harder than it needs to be ?
