Cross Report Drillthorugh when master and child have same filters on them - duplication of filters

Had a look at cross report drillthrough.

A few problems with the cross-report drill-through feature to navigate from master to detail reports

 context sensitive menu thus less user-friendly than single click as need 1 right click and then another for selection as opposed to single one

When right-click on the column which is linked between master (scorecard) and child reports then it would list all child reports in workspace

1. Duplication of filters even if make drillthrough filters invisible – it looks to pass through the filters from the parent report (i.e. scorecard) to the child reports which means when user is on child report – in this way behaviour is similar to the query string parameter passing identically named filters not eliminated via a behind the scenes distinct operator

Drill-through filtering believe better suited for scenarios where the same filters don’t exist in master and child reports.

Is it possible for a master and child report to have the same filters and when a child report is called from master report using the drilltrhough feature, for the child report not to show duplicate filter.

Wondering people's thought s on scorecard with multiple measures to link to detail reports.

scorecard would have region and week filters as would child reports and had cosnidered using cross report drillthrough to link them but filters looks to be causing issue.

HI @po ,

It sounds like you are looking for a filter to sync parent report and child report. I'd like to suggest you to use sync slicer to sync selection between these reports pages.

Thanks for reply.

Looking to link two distinct .pbix files with filters and can use cross-report drill-through but it duplicates the filters i.e. if child and parent .pbix files have the same filters with same name it passes the parent filter to the child report rather than recognising child report already has a filter with exact same name and thus shoing the filter once.   Furthermore, it passse the parent filter with region set but leaves region on the child one unset.

Ideally want to sync filters between .pbix ffiels to only show the filter once with child .pbix filter set from what parent one was - is this possible?

Current power bi not support to interaction filters between different pbix files.
