Automatic Aggregations - No SystemManaged table found after PA Training

Hi all,

I have recently enabled this option on one of my direct query reports to see if it helps the speed of it but it doesnt seem to be doing anything - it has had 2 refreshes so far both of which have results in 0mb of aggregations being created and the error message:

No SystemManaged table found after PA Training

Can't seem to find anything about this - anybody able to help?

There is some very detailed documentation here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/enterprise/aggregations-auto

One issue you may be running into, is the very limited set of sources that are currently supported...

I hadn't read this when I turned it on for one of my datasets. I was getting...

I already had aggs setup and working so I turned auto aggs off. Will revisit when more sources are supported.

Hope this helps.

I've been through that page a few times trying to find an answer - unfortunately to no avail.

All of my sources are Snowflake other than:

  • A lookup table that was created using the 'Enter Data' feature in Power Query
  • A blank query with the M edited to pull the most recent refreshed time

As a test, you could try and setup a couple of new reports, pointing at the dataset that you have turned on auto aggs for. Have the new reports each at a different grain to see if that triggers anything to recalculate.

Other than that, I'm not really sure.
