ADO.NET Unable to find the requested .Net Framework Data Provider. It may not be installed.

Hi All,

We have developed our dataflows on Power BI Service directly, and while we are trying to import a computed entity/table from Dataflow 1 to Dataflow 2:

  • On Dataflow 1, entity/table is working fine and retruning records/rows/results.
  • Whereas, while import the same to other Dataflows, it gives below error.

Can anyone kindly suggest on this please, like what could be the possible cause in this.

Thanks in Advance!

Hi @yavnish ,

Try reinstalling the .NET Framework and restarting the server, then creating the data source.

Or refer to the following similar solution: you need to edit the machine.config file to remove the additional entries of DbProviderFactories and then restart the server.

Or refer to below blog:

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,
Henry

Thank you so much for reply @v-henryk-mstf ,

Could you please confirm like where exactly we need to re-install the .NET Framework and update the machine.config file. Because this error we are getting while developing Dataflow via Power BI Service (https://app.powerbi.com).

Kind Regards

_Yavnish
