Query does not display values from sharepoint list

Hi All,

I have a list from sharepoint that is imported to power bi, one of the columns in the sharepoint has multiple options however the same column is not showing the values in power bi but shows List value instead. I tried to expand the list, unfurtunately, instead of getting the values of the list, i get numbers (id). Do you know how to fix it? I need the values of the list to be shown in the column in power bi.

Thank you in advance

Hi @Soldado,

It sounds like the column with multiple options in SharePoint is a "Choice" column, and Power BI is displaying the internal values instead of the labels. To fix this, you need to tell Power BI to use the labels instead of the values.

Here are the steps to do that:

  1. In the Power BI desktop, select the table that contains the column with the Choice field.
  2. In the Fields pane, find the column with the Choice field and click on the small down arrow next to it.
  3. Select "Change Type" -> "Using Locale"
  4. In the "Using Locale" dialog box, select the language that corresponds to the language of your SharePoint site, and then click "OK".
  5. Power BI will refresh the data and should now display the labels instead of the internal values.

If this doesn't work, you can also try changing the column type in SharePoint to a "Single line of text" column, and then re-importing the data into Power BI.

Let me know if this solves your issue!
