Close and Apply Query Editor without Waiting

Hello!

I am new to power bi and have a question. In the query editor I have one table which takes quite a long time to update as shown in the picture. My question is: can I close and apply and will this apply all new changes or should I wait for this yellow dots to finish with the update before closing and applying? Thank you so muchpara community.PNG

Hi, @UlisesCiccola , according to my experience, it doesn't matter to quit Power Query on clicking "Close & Apply" while those yellow dots float; yet another box pomps up while all the updates in PQ are deploying.

Thanks to the great efforts by MS engineers to simplify syntax of DAX! Most beginners are SUCCESSFULLY MISLED to think that they could easily master DAX; but it turns out that the intricacy of the most frequently used RANKX() is still way beyond their comprehension!

DAX is simple, but NOT EASY!

I would agree 99% of the time with @CNENFRNL here, but I have seen times where the refresh fails due to an "error" and the fix is to go to that query, and refresh that specific query and wait for the yellow dots to finish. The larger your tables, and the more merges or appends you have, the more I've seen this pop up in recent months. I think it has to do with the new Enhanced Metadata format that rolled out a few months ago. I never recalled seeing this issue until 2020. Before, it always happened as @CNENFRNL indicated. Now it just mostly does.

DAX is for Analysis. Power Query is for Data Modeling
