filter from selected value to show the period plus the last 12 periods before in a visual

We have a non standard financial year and therefore have a date table with the appropriate weeks and financial periods for every date.  We have a report, where the user selects the financial year and financial period they want to see.  On a visual chart they would like the chart to show the period selected plus the 12 periods before this.  Standard time intelligence doesn't work as this is not a standard date calendar.  Has anyone solution to this?
