Using a shared dataset from a different published report, formatting properties not coming along

I create a blank report that has some core dataset we want to use for other reports. One of the datasets is an Analytics View from Azure DevOps (Boards) that I have changed the date fields in the model tab to be Date time format = Long Date. I have saved and published the blank report with the core datasets. When I go to create a new report and use the core dataset from this report, the date fields are of type General Date and cannot be changed as they are greyed out and disabled.

Why or how do I get the Long Date from the core dataset report to be used/honored in the new report I am trying to create? This is causing problems in my new report due to the date format not being in a Long Date format.

Hi @JWolmanSymplr ,

For your datasource is Azure DevOps (Boards) , so you may use live connection model.

In this model, you could do any modeling in the power bi,  all the modeling must be done in Azure side, you could only create a report level measure in power bi and do formatting for this measure.

If I have not understood your needs correctly, please do not hesitate to inform me.

Hope it helps,
