In Power BI Desktop, I have connected our data via Analysis Services from our SQL Server Database. Due to this being a Live Connection I annot seem to do alot of data transformations outside of creating some measures for the report im in.
We are trying to set up Power BI for our Company. Since we cannot clean and create a lot of data in Power BI. Would the best option be to download SQL Server Management Studio and do all our data cleaning at that level before pushing to Power BI?

@lucas9e Yes, the closer to the source you can get those transformations, the better. You can also use Direct Query connection on Power BI datasets (preview feature - https://excelwithallison.blogspot.com/2023/01/duh-power-bi-learnings-from-microsoft.html )that will give you a bit more functionality for adding some columns and tables to the model, but won't enable transforming the analysis services data itself.
