Transfer tabs to new version

Please advise how to  transfer tabs created in old version to newer version?

What version does the new version and the old version refer to, Power BI Desktop or report content?

And the tabs means visual button or something else. Please provide us with some more detail information.

If you open an existing .pbix after installing a new version of PowerBI Desktop, the reports will be updated to the newer version, no need to move them to a new file.
