Sum based on conditions in another column

Hello, 

I have the following data: 

Project	GATE	NNS	NNS YEAR
DN1	stage 1	10	2020
DN2	stage 1	20	2019
DN3	stage 1	30	2020
DN1	stage 2	15	2020
DN2	stage 2	25	2019
DN3	stage 2	35	2020
DN1	stage 3	40	2020

I need to Sum NNS per Year, only once per project - for the latest stage of the project. 

So the result should be: 

output	NNS SUM	NNS SUM
2019	=25	25
2020	=40+35	75

Could you please help?

sumx(summarize(Table, Table[YEAR], Table[Project],"_1",LASTNONBLANKVALUE(Table[GATE],sum(table[NNS]))),[_1])

Can you please explain the logic? (my apology, I'm not so bright to figure it out... I just copied your formula and it worked)..
