Slicer Breaks Prior Year Measure

Hello, 

I have created a function to calculate the sales for the same month, the prior year.

I have a slicer to select which financial year so then the grand totals in the table are correct but it seems the slicer completely removes the previous year's data rather than just hiding it so then the prior year measure can't be calculated?

Is there a way around this?

please post you measure as the way you construct it will make a difference to how it reacts to data selections.

Income Prior Year = CALCULATE(SUM('income'[Income]), DATEADD('income'[Date].[Date], -12, MONTH))

I also have a "Finance Year" field.
