Show average of a data column on a card visual?

Hi,

I have a column in my data called "Number of days to respond". I'd like to show the average of this in a card visual. I tried going to the Data Field, but it only allows me to show the first or last values, or a (distinct) count. Can anyone help please? I'm a beginner.

Thanks

Hi,

In the Query Editor, change the data type to Whole number and write this measure:

Avg = average(Data[Number of days to respond])

Hope this helps.

hi @Anonymous

this happens when the column is not of number type. Check your data type of [Number of days to respond] first.

Numbers should have the sigma sign:

Hi, thanks for replying. It doesn't have a sigma sign.

Hi @Anonymous

That is the issue. You have at least one nonnumeric in that column. You have to replace/delete it in your data source or Power Query processing,
