I have what seems like a simple question which i can't find an answer to online. I'm trying to have a version of a dashboard that I can work on with someone else. The natural place is a teams/sharepoint folder, but when I check the file out, it asks me to download it. Then naturally the work i'm doing is from the version in my downloads folder, rather than the version of sharepoint itself, so when i save, none of the changes save in the sharepoint version. Is there a way to do this? Or do i need to do re-upload the version every time i make changes? Thanks
grrr, thought i had pro and don't. thx for this; i should have just checked to see i had pro earlier. thanks again.
What's "the Service"?
@crobaseball2 powerbi.com. You Publish your file to the Service. That's the purpose of the "Publish" button in the Home tab of the ribbon. That said, for sharing to happen where more than one person can edit the file you would need to purchase a Pro license for $10/month each. Then you put it in a shared workspace. Otherwise, you can put it on any network drive or other file sharing system but only one person can have the PBIX open at a time.
@crobaseball2 I would think that the natural place for collaboration would be to publish the report in the Service and work on it there.
