Project count over time

Hi,

   I would like to create a graph that shows active projects over time.  I look after a portfolio of approx 100 projects which all have start and finish dates. I'd like to show the volume projects month on month from 2018 to 2025 (end dates on some projects are in the future), so I can review the pipeline of work now and in the future.

Hola Comunidad,

Tengo un problema similar y no logro resolverlo. Necesito crear una medida que cuente la cantidad de proyectos vigentes por mes teniendo en cuenta la fecha de inicio y de finalización de cada proyecto.
En la siguiente tabla se ve claramente: esta el ID del proyecto y las columnas de fecha inicio y fecha fin de cada proyecto.

He probado muchísimas metricas pero no logro que ninguna cuente la cantidad de proyectos vigentes mes a mes. Haciendo el cálculo manualmente en enero 2022 hubo 6 proyectos en ese mes, febrero, marzo y abril se mantienen igual, en mayo hubo 9 proyectos vigentes y así sucesivamente teniendo en cuenta la fecha en la que inició y finalizó cada proyecto el resultado final sería:

El mismo proyecto debe contarse a lo largo de los meses de duración, proque son los meses que tuvo vigencia ¿se comprende?

Haciendo un gráfico de linea tendriamos una linea continua que sube o baja segun la cantidad de proyectos.

Al manejar muchos proyectos se dificulta estar haciendo un calculo por proyecto, ademas un calculo por proyecto no se graficaría correctamente. 

Debo lograr un grafico como el siguiente: 

Las fórmulas que probé no me dejan usar el "crossfilter" y no tengo "isblank" en mi tabla porque cada proyecto tiene fecha de inicio y fin. He probado con fórmulas que contienen la expresión "isblank" y no cuenta la cantidad correcta de proyectos por mes.

Getting very close!!!   But still split into years. Can it be shown as a single graph line from Jan 18 to Dec 24?

Many thanks I got your google docs version.  Only one problem (might be the way I described it). What I need to see is the number of active projects each month, but from January 2018 till Dec 2024.

what will be the cretiria for active projects would explain it further

For any month M between Jan'18 and Dec '24, Active = Start Date <= M AND Finish Date >= M.
