Power BI connectivity with Amazon EC2

Just wanted to check if it is feasible to connect Power BI to AWS EC2 and create visuals on top of that? I have Spark SQL setup on AWS EC2. Regards, Akash

Hi @akj2784,

If you want to connect to SQL Server in Amazon AWS from Power BI Desktop, you can use Amazon Redshift connector to connect to the instance. When you choose to Load data from Power BI Desktop Navigator , you'll prompted whether to use Import or DirectQuery mode to load the data. For more information, please review this article.

Thank you for reply. I want to connect to file system in EMR. I don't have SQL Server on AWS.

Does this have rest api or backend database?
