To answer you question, yes you can connect directly to SAP ECC but you'll connect at the database layer and not through the applicaion.

What database sits under SAP ECC?

Do you have a Full Database License or a Runtime License? If you have a full use then you can access the database and read data from the tables using a SQL Server or Oracle Connection.

Our SAP Database is DB2

Hi @Ahmedw,

Please try to connect to underlying database to fetch data as lmf232s suggested.

Let's put it this way, you're not connecting directly to SAP ECC but rather directly connecting to the database that sits under SAP ECC. There is no connection avaialble that will allow you to access SAP ECC through the app layer (That Im aware of). As such, you'll need to access the data/tables from the database directly.  So if SAP ECC has a SQL Server databse then use the SQL Server connector, if its Oracle then use the Oracle connector, etc.

Note that unless you already have access to the database you'll need to talk to your DBA to get a DB Account created (READ ONLY!!) and then you can use that to access the database directly.

This is an image of the SQL Connector for Power BI and what you have to enter.

Hi @Ahmedw,

Based on my research, currently it is not available to directly connect to SAP ECC from Power BI. An idea has been submitted in this link, please vote it up.
