PBIX Corruption after SSAS Tabular version Upgrade

Hi,

We have numerous PBIX using SSAS Tabular models as their data source.

We have upgrade the SSAS Models from 1100 SQL 2012 to 1400 SQL 2017.

Since this upgrade we have been unable to open the report in the services and we get the error below.

When attempting to open the original PBIX files we get the below error. This error cannot be closed and therefore we cannot amend the data source settings.

The data source is working when selected in a new PBIX file.

How can we recover the original reports (there are quite a few that were built at a high cost!)?

Please reconfirm the following points:
1. Successfully  upgrade the model in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) and then deploy the solution to an upgraded server instance.
2. The service name and database name of the new project remain the same as the original
3. Make sure to set up correct roles  (have  permission  to access model ) for users  

If these points are confirmed,  it is suggest you to create a support ticket to investigate the issue.

Once you solve your problem, please  kindly share the solution  and  mark it as answered here for reference.

Other community members will easily find the solution when they get the same issue.
