Optimisation : removing fields

Hello, I've a big application with a lot of fields.

I'd like to optimize it and I've some doubts that some fields are not necessary :

For the final user, is it better to completely remove a field from the PowerBI Report, or is it the same to hide the field in the model view ?

Regards

Thanks solutions from @samratpbi

Hi, @Bebs

Depending on your needs, if you hide these fields in your model, they will not be visible to the end user who reads the report, but you can still make calculations based on these hidden fields, like auxiliary calculations for other measures, etc. If you choose to delete these fields, then they will be permanently deleted and can no longer be used for calculations, which helps reduce the model size, mentioning overall performance, which will be an optimization for large datasets. Both methods have their own advantages and disadvantages, and you should make a suitable choice based on your actual situation.

Hi,

it would be better to remove the columns in power query. That would reduce your model size and improve performance.

If this resolves your problem, then please mark it as solution, Thanks!
