In this YouTube video, we tackle the challenge of effectively displaying many measures in a Power BI matrix visual. Dealing with a cluttered matrix and a bottom scroll bar can make it difficult to compare values. The solution presented involves a technique to showcase measures both on rows and columns. For instance, you can arrange sales amounts and quantities by each month on the rows, while featuring current month sales, previous month sales, variance, and more on the columns.
The video also demonstrates the flexibility to select and compare different periods, such as the current month versus the previous month or the current year-to-date with the previous year-to-date.
The approach empowers users to tailor their visualizations, providing the ability to decide what and how they want to see the data. Ultimately, this solution offers an easy and customizable way to give users control over their Power BI reports.
