How to query TFS using API

Hi all,

first of all, I'm new to Power BI and using TFS as an project management tool.

I want to oppose a team members capacity in the current and next iteration to the corresponding planned work to see estimated deviations. I have to use the API to get the capacities.

Is it possible to do this in Power BI desktop app and if so how?

Thanks!

Frank

Power BI used to have a content pack for VSTS but it impacted the VSTS db which is why it got depricated but for VSTS now you can create queries on VSTS side (if you are an admin) that query spits of the data that you want you and you can connect to PBI. Idk if your meaning of TFS (Team Foundation Services) is same as VSTS, if it is then you will be able to make use of it easily.

Hi nirvana_moksh,

thanks for your reply.

VSTS is online (cloud?) based and TFS is an local installation.

There are some differences between them,  e.g. VSTS supports dynamic iterations like "currentIteration+1".

I'm interested in querying TFS but I don't know if there are differences between VSTS and TFS referring to this.

Please add appropriate links to ease the introduction into the subject(s).

Thanks in advance,

Frank
