How to Change the Settings so Power BI doesn't perform a Count or any summerization on a Year Value

Hi,

No matter what I can change, the X-Axis value for a Bar Chart is constantly changing to a count. I'm trying to show only the "Year" on the X-Axis of the chart. I even created a Calculated Field as below, but it's changing to a Count number.

Completed Year = FORMAT('Active Project Table V1'[Finish date].[Date],"YYYY")

Please help.

Thanks,

@kamini , if you take it categocial axis means : x-axis in column bar and y-axis bar visual

So take year on categocial axis  or take that as legend

on value axis; year will summarize

I was using the Power BI in Cloud, and many of the functionalities doesn't work or exist. The whole UI is different. I got the Desktop version now.

Is there an easy way to have a date such as Start Date populated as a date (02/11/2020) and not to show the entire hierarchy?

Thanks so much for your time.
