Hierarchy Move Elements Up Down

Hi all,

Using Power BI Desktop July, 2021
I created a date hierarchy and added Year, Quarter, Month_Name, and Date

I added a slicer to a report and addeed the hierarchy, seems to work well
I then added another slicer and just added the fields one at a time to the slicer
It appears to be the same result,
Is one method better than the other - why?

I don't see any options to move the elements around in the hierarchy?
I'm in Data View, I right-clicked the elements, no option to move up or down

I swiched to Model View, same, no option to move the various elements up or down inside the hierarchy.

Thanks,

-w

@UncleLewis Model hierarchies are there for ease of use when needing to repeatedly use a hierarchy. If you mess up creating the hierarchy, delete the items in the hierarchy until the point where you messed up. Then add your columns again.

The other way is what is called an "adhoc hierarchy". Flexible and convenient but if you have to do it on 20 visuals it can be a real PITA.
