Hi,
What is the mechanism to use the enterprise gateway with google analytics.
I have multiple sites associated with my google analytics account.
I bring each in individually through BI desktop and the join them into one table.
When I publish I only get access to the personal gateway. How would I then access the enterprise.
Does each site need to be added to the gateway individually. Would this be able to activate retrospectivly as the report is already made if I add them.
Thanks
Chris
Hi Jak82
Were you able to resolve your question regarding refreshing data from GA?
I have a similar scenario (multiple sites, merged in a single query/dashboard) and I would like to perform regular updates during the day.
I believe the following is possible/not possible:
- we cannot perform an automatic refresh using an enterprise gateway since the enterprise gateway does not currently support a GA data source
- we can only perform an automatic refresh using a Personal gateway
In addition, I found this on the MS Help page for Gateways: "OAuth is not a supported authentication scheme with the on-premises data gateway".
Are you able to confirm the above or were you able to get your automatic refresh to work with the enterprise (on-premise) gateway?
Regards
I may be mistaken, but I didn't think that Google Analytics refresh would need any gateway at all as it would use the Service's "gateway" to refresh data since it is not access on-premises information.
