Hello everyone
I wanted to know if there is any way to reduce the quality when exporting in PDF, it generates very fat files since they have a lot of information and images. If I compress it later in third-party programs the quality drops a lot, so I would like to know if there is any option to lower the quality when exporting directly from the GDP.
Thank you
Power BI is able to create a PDF, however there are no options that
control resulting PDF quality or overall file size. For that you will
need to continue to use a third party tool like Adobe Acrobat or
Foxit PDF Editor. Each of these products have settings to control
optimizing PDF files including Downsampling of images, Compression,
file Quality, and Optimizaton of images.
Export reports from Power BI to PDF a Microsoft Learn resource describes
the process, consideration and limitations in some depth.
Power BI did not natively support options to reduce the quality of PDF exports directly. The options for exporting to PDF in Power BI are somewhat limited, and the focus is on preserving the quality and fidelity of the visuals.
However, if your report includes large images, you can compress these images before adding them to the Power BI report. Compressed images within the report should make the resultant PDF smaller.
Also, if the report has a large table or matrix with a lot of information, you can try reducing the information density in these visuals. Regarding third-party tools which can compress PDFs after exporting, if the compression is too aggressive and the quality drops a lot, you may want to explore different tools or settings within those tools. Some PDF compressors allow you to specify the level of compression and can achieve a balance between size and quality.
