Export data from Power bi service

Hi,

I am trying to export the data from Power BI serive into Excel. I am not sure if this is possible.

Please let me know if there's a way to do that.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Could "Analyze in Excel" meet your requirements?

If it could, please accept @parry2k 's reply as a solution so that people who may have the same question can get the solution directly.

If not, please let us know.

Best Regards,

Icey

@Icey @parry2k It didn't work since I'm not able to move the columns to the value section for pivot table. It gives me an error that it's not supported.

Hi @Anonymous ,

You can probably keep a table visualization in your dashboard and export the data to .csv format.

@Anonymous  I suggest you to create a Matrix or Table visual in your powerbi dashboard. Using this visual, user will get option to download the raw data in excel format. On the powerbi dashboard, user will have to click on the 3 dots icon and there he/she will get option to export raw data file.

@amitchandak @parry2k

I want to export the data from dashboard. not from the visuals but I want the user to be able to download the raw data.

@Anonymous unfortunately you cannot do that. Why not use Analyze in Excel and let the user connect to the model and use the data.

I would  Kudos if my solution helped. 👉 If you can spend time posting the question, you can also make efforts to give Kudos whoever helped to solve your problem. It is a token of appreciation!

@Anonymous you can click on top right corner of the visual (3 dots) and there is an export option.

There is a limit on how much you can export. Read here
