Creating a dashboard using a query with parameters - Beginner.

Hi there,

I am looking to create a dashboard /report for my users to see business on the books (hospitality KPI- this basically needs to tell us how many are the no of rooms booked for the rest of the year  from current day ). I have the query I run in SQL to get the results out but they needs 4 parameter inputs ((1) Hotel Id , 2) current date , 3) startdate, 4) enddate)). How can I use this query to create a real time dashboard to show on the books data (future data to be displayed each day real time).

Please advice.

Many thanks
Preveena

@Preveena

In Power BI Desktop, we can apply the Query Parameters to filter different records based on selection. However, it doesn't work on Power BI Serivce, which means it can't be used for creating dashboard. Please vote this idea.

For your requirement, you can also try SQL Server Reporting Services.

Regards,

Simon Hou
