Hi all! I have a report with two visualizations on it. The first is a line chart showing monthly sales for the whole nation. The second is a table which shows monthly sales for each state. For reasons I won't get into and that don't matter, sales for the nation are not just the sum of the sales for each state. Each state and the nation as a whole are values in the same column, called region.
What I would like to have happen is that when I click on a certain month in the line chart, the data in the table below gets filtered to match the month that I clicked on in the line chart. What actually happens is that the table gets filtered to match the month AND region I clicked on - which is always the whole nation. So the contents of the table vanish because all of the states get filtered out based on the region variable.
I know I can set it up so that clicking on one chart doesn't filter another chart in the same report. But is there a way to make it so that it filters based on some variables but not others?
Thanks!
@jcpewittyancey it will be part of measure calculation which can override the selection/filter from other visuals, yes it can be done.
