Can not publish from desktop power bi

ERROR: This report couldn't access the data source because it doesn't have permission. Choose another data gateway, or contact the gateway administrator.

I have software that fetches data from a machine PLC and stores it in SQL every 1 second. I visualize data from the SQL server to PowerBI desktop and refresh the page every second, which is perfect visualization.

Now I publish that report on the Web. but when I open it on my mobile device or in a browser, it shows an error: "This report couldn't access the data source because it doesn't have permission. Choose another data gateway, or contact the gateway administrator. "

Note: I am using DirectQuery for Get Data.

Hi @usmanisofficial ,

Go to admin account.

Go to the gateway management tab.

Select the datasource and check if its connected.

If Yes. then check the users and add your users id in the list

Thanks,

Hi @usmanisofficial

Is your SQL Server located on the local network?

  • If yes, I presume you are utilizing a gateway.

  • Are you using a personal gateway or an enterprise gateway?

Please ensure the machine on which the gateway is installed is powered on and not shut down.

If it's an enterprise gateway, make sure your account has the necessary access to the gateway.

Thanks and Regards,

Sayali
