I am trying to calculate percentage change over time by taking inputs from the date slicer but after adding the measure to a table visual I don't want the date slicer to filter the measure.
I have this below table format in my report.
Below is my report: Amount is aggregated for each class by the filters and selected dates
Now, I need to calculate % change for Amount by the current user date selected and exact time period last year (I.e July 1st-Jul 28th 2021 vs July 1st-Jul 28th 2020)
I want to add this measure next to the Amount.
In order to calculate the %, first I created Amount for last year (July 1st-Jul 28th 2020) which is displaying blank as it doesn't fall under the user selected date (July 1st-Jul 28th 2021).
Please help me how to calculate the % without displaying blank in the table.
Not sure if i fully understand your requirement but see attached.
What i did was add a date table, then i create a previous year measure using the sameperiodlastyear function.
see attached.
