Trouble Refreshing SQL server data

I got access to a gateway to auto refresh data. When I try to refresh I get this error which isn't very descriptive.

The gateway is online. I used the same credentials and privacy level as the sql connection on the desktop version which works. Does that mean that it is a problem with the gateway?

Hi @MulberyPie ,

Have you tried the method provided by gauthamboppana? Please mark his answer as a solution if it helps.

If the problem is not resolved, please try:

1. Ignore privacy level.

2. Data refresh can also fail due to expired cached credentials. Clear your internet browser cache by going signing into Power BI and going to https://app.powerbi.com. This forces an update of your credentials.

3. Remove the corrupted reports from the service and re-add them.

4. You may export the data gateway log by selecting Diagnostics and then selecting the Export logs link near the bottom of the page. Reference: tools-for-troubleshooting.

@MulberyPie  - Try the below options and see if it works.

1) Making all privacy settings at dektop and service to "Organizational" fixed this for me too.
2) Update your gateway to the latest version and refreshed the credentials [in Datasets > click on dataset > Data source credentials > Click edit credentials and sign in].
