Want to Reuse Formatting in Shapes and Visuals Between Different Reports

I am working on several reports that will have the same shape and visual formatting, instead of spending time perfecting each shape/visual in each report is there a way I can copy and paste between different reports, or is there a way I can apply code to format the shapes or visuals.

Two ways I tried to solve this first by creating a template report, this worked to a point, if you end up changing the design after all the reports are created then this is not a suitable method.

The second way is using the format painter but that needs a visual that is already created.
