Collaborate in pbix file

Hi,

I am currently working on a pbix file. I have saved it in the teams channel and publish to a workspace.

May I know how can other work on this pbix file?

Do they need to download the pbix file from teams channel, after edit the queries, publish to the workspace again?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

I can think of these 2 ways:

-As you've said, download it, make the changes, publish it again and override the previous pbix.

-Or you can sync the teams sharepoint folder to your local machine and work directly on the file. This way will help you with file management but bare in mind that only one person can work in the file at the same time.

One other interesting way that can be explored to save the BIM files correspnding to pbix and maintaining them using Visual Studio Team repository for the team to work simultaneously.

The JSON metadata containing all the changes, the DAX code, Power Query, properties, relationships, and so forth is created whenever a pbix file is uploaded to Premium. This is without any data.

Further these can be version controlled using Azure Devops.
