Something went wrong. Please try again later. (Owl error on Apps)

Hi there,

I have a Power BI App displayed in a monitor screen in my company.

It only shows one of the reports of the app, and refreshes by using a Microsoft Edge extension.

It generally works (a week or so without issues), but frequently is displays the error (image below).

What could be causing this issue?

I found multiple instances of this "owl" error, but it seems to be generally related with Power BI Service downtime, I don't think this is the issue here.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, @brunoctesser

Based on the image you provided and your description of the error, it looks like the error is related to the Power BI service, but not necessarily because the service is down. From the content of the error page, it mentions "O Power BI não conseguiu ler os metadados do aplicativo" (Power BI could not read the application's metadata), which could mean that there are several possible causes:
1. Power BI may not be able to read or access the application's metadata correctly. This could be due to a configuration issue with the application, a corrupt data model, or a permissions issue.
2. Although you think it is unlikely that the service is down, there may be temporary connectivity issues or delays that prevent Power BI from accessing the required metadata in a timely manner.
3. If your application makes a large number of calls or uses a large number of resources, it may exceed Power BI's API limits or quotas, causing the service to reject further requests.
4. Since you mentioned that you use Microsoft Edge extensions for refreshing, there may be an issue with the refresh logic, resulting in reports not loading correctly in some cases.
To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:
1. Ensure that the Power BI service is up and running in your region.
2. Sometimes browser caching can cause loading issues, try clearing your Edge browser cache and reloading the page.
3. check the configuration of the application to ensure that all settings are correct and permissions have been set correctly.
4.Check your extension for known issues or deactivate the extension try the scheduled refresh or manual refresh that comes with Power BI service.
