After migrating to Gen 2 we are not ablet to restart the premium capacity we own. We tried using Azure Admin portal and Power BI admin portal and still no luck. Can someone assist?

Hi @KartR ,

To manage capacity in the Power BI admin portal, you typically use the Capacity Settings page to view and modify advanced capacity. However, direct Restart or Recovery actions are managed through the Azure portal.

If you are still unable to restore the Gen2 Advanced Capacity, it may be helpful to check the following points:

  • Permissions: Ensure that you have the required permissions to manage the capacity. You need to be a Global Administrator or Power BI Service Administrator.
  • Capacity Status: Verify that the capacity is not in a suspended state or that there are any alerts or notifications indicating that there is a problem with the capacity.

Pause and start your Power BI Embedded capacity in the Azure portal - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Hi @KartR

Further to what @lbendlin mentioned, When using gen 2 this now uses shared dedicated capacity and that is why you can no longer restart the capacity. What is the issue you are experiencing so we can assist you.
