Power BI online Dataset refresh fails after the column is removed from Dataflow

Hi,

I’m using the Dataflow to build the PBI report, and the source of Dataflow is “Common Data Service”. When I remove the XXXX column from Dataflow and then go to the online workspace and click the Refresh Now button on the Dataset, I got refresh failed message.
Failed message: The “XXXX” column does not exist in the rowset.
I know we can refresh in desktop and then re-publish PBI report to workspace. However, it’s not an efficient way to fix this issue as we have 10+ reports linked to this Dataflow. Is there anyone know why we can’t refresh the Dataset directly? Or is there any way to refresh Dataset without re-publish PBI report? Thanks!

Hi @MandyL ,

In order to avoid referencing the columns that are magically put into the report, use the "Remove Other Columns" feature in the Query Editor.

Please kindly refer to the below link which has similar issue:

The column does not exist in the rowset

The 'HasUniqueRoleAssignments' column does not exist in the rowset.
