Power BI Gateway connections stopped working for Analysis Services. Working for SQL Server connections.
Tested Personal and Service Accounts and both have access, but neither works through the Gateway. Report Users cannot access reports with live connections.
Hi @EmileDiedrick,
I assume it is an Enterprise Gateway and not a Personal Gateway. There could be various reasons why Power BI Gateway connections have stopped working for Analysis Services only. Here are a few things you can check to troubleshoot the issue:
Ensure that the Power BI Gateway is up to date. You can check this by logging into the machine where the gateway is installed and opening the gateway application.
Check if the Analysis Services instance is accessible from the machine where the Power BI Gateway is installed. You can use SQL Server Management Studio or another tool to test connectivity.
Make sure that the Analysis Services instance is configured to allow external connections. You can check this by going to the Analysis Services properties and verifying that "Allow remote connections to this server" is enabled.
Ensure that the Analysis Services firewall is not blocking incoming connections from the Power BI Gateway.
Check the credentials used for the Analysis Services connection in the Power BI Gateway. Make sure that they are correct and have sufficient permissions to access the Analysis Services instance.
Verify that the Analysis Services data source in Power BI is configured to use the correct gateway.
Check the logs for any error messages related to the Analysis Services connection in the Power BI Gateway.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be helpful to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.
Best regards,
Isaac Chavarria
