Dataflow deleted my incremental refreshes

Hello! I'm sure this has happened to someone somewhere but my dataflow that has been running for about 6 months collecting data from the usage metrics of my Power BI workspace, suddenly deleted all the data that it has been collecting. No issues prior to this although it happened again earlier this year just with 3 months of data. I haven't touched the settings for incremental refresh but I just want to know how to prevent this again. Im using a date field for each table that refreshes and its set for daily refresh to import new rows if it identifies new dates. Any idea on why this might be happening?

P.S. the data sources is PBIs usage metrics data which I'm accessing as a SQL Server Analysis Services.

Any meta data changes in the data sources will restart the partitioning process.  Your data source is highly volatile.
