Both machines are on windows profressional and both fully patched
Power BI desktop is the latest available.
All data source connections are done via WEB.
When running the data refresh in Power BI Desktop the data refresh works as expected.
When rtunning the refresh in the browser the following error occurs.
Last Refresh Failed messsage:
Last refresh failed: Tue Dec 07 2021 06:15:43 GMT+0000 (Greenwich Mean Time)
Scheduled refresh has been disabled.Hide details
Data source error: Scheduled refresh is disabled because at least one data source is missing credentials. To start the refresh again, go to this dataset's settings page and enter credentials for all data sources. Then reactivate scheduled refresh.
But as the data source credentaisl are greyed out and eventually error i cant get to edit them.
I have cleared all cache options
I have cleared and reset all data source settings
I have deleted all published versions and re published them.
This only happens on 1 dataset within a workspace and there are 30 seperate web calls to the same application for seperate tables.

I am not sure what has solved this issue but it is solved. Maybe it was a bug fix in the application but it just started working without any changes.
I opened the report in the desktop client, opened the Query Editor and found one of my sources saying that credentials are missing.
I entered the credentials and published it again.
After this the topic "Data source credentials" has been active again.
This is an anoying thing that happens since a few month.
"wait few seconds"? Mine took few minutes to "ungrey" 😞
And the most annoying is that I can't even see privacy setting in a simple table, nor edit credentials in batch (I've got like 100 different sources, but all from same domain).
Can somebody advise how to deal with it? I mean - is there a way to deal with it in power bi desktop and expect that data sources would just refresh if scheduled? Thanks!

Hi @MartinPerry
What's your datasource? FYI: Power BI data sources
And have you ever been able to successfully edit data source credentials? Or does it happen recently?
And do you install the on-premise data gateway?

Hi
Tried that many times and in all cominbinations from above. The following error is given.
Failed to load data sources. Please try again later.
@MartinPerry , In the workspace, Click on the three dots of dataset. And click on setting
Under the setting open Datasource connection, it might take a few second before it gets enabled. Check is it asking for any credential (cross sign would be there)
Open gateway and check is it asking for that.
Even if source is not reachable, it might give credential error
