App Granting Permissions to Reports?

Let's say I have 3 reports in a workspace. 2 are shared to all users, but 1 is not shared with anybody.

If I create an App that has all 3 reports, then share the App with somebody, will they be granted permission to the unshared report as well?

Hi @ybarsabal

Short answer, yes. When you build an App that effectively copies the Reports into the App (provided you have selected "include in App" for the Report in the workspace). Then shareing the App takes no notice of the who the original report was shared with. An App has a single view for all users who can see the App, you can't have different Reports visible in an App for different users. You can use Row Level Security but this secures the data at Record level, the users will still see the Report, but what they see in that report will be different for each user that is configured in RLS.

Hope this helps

Hi @ybarsabal

I did some tests with two accounts.

I publish the app from the workspace, which has three reports in it, one of them I turn on Include in app.

After I publish it, when I use another account to get the reports that are not well contained in the app directly via link, it shows that permission is required, even if the report containd in the app. They can only get the report form the app you published.

So , app wont grant report access to the user.
