dataflow permission to access issue

Hi, I have grant a user admin access to a workspace and within that workspace there are severals dataflows in it.

However, when the admin user open one of the dataflow, he has a an error like this.

Firstly, i thought it is something to do with the stardard gateway that the dataflow ingest data through. but it is still the same after i add that user as admin in standard gateway.  I read some note in the web and someone mentions change of ownership to let other take over. But i didn't see that option.

Any help?

The other user do see the take over sign. However, I need to help set up the standard gateway in order to make it work.

It's been like this since dataflows first hit the streets. They are owned by someone, ONE person. They *should* be owned by the WORKSPACE, so that any admin can edit them with the need to 'take over'. You don't see any Dataset or Dashboard or Report being owned by any ONE person, so why Dataflows?

MS seems to conveniuently ignore this oversight.

@gavin007

Only the dataflow owner can edit or mange the dataflow, you need to takeover the ownership.

Configure and consume a dataflow - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

  • Take ownership: If you're not the owner of the dataflow, many of these settings are disabled. To take ownership of the dataflow, select Take over to take control. You are prompted to provide credentials to ensure you have the necessary access level

Hi Paul,

This is exactly what i read online. I can't see the take owership option in my dataflow. Does it mean the new admin user will see that option when they go to the setting?
