Hi Community,
I'm trying to connect to a on-premise SSAS tabular model (MSSQL BI 2014) via on-premise enterprise gateway.
Below steps are performed:
1. Install the gateway
2. Enable Azure Service Bus connectivity mode
3. Add tabular data source in powerbi and connection test is successful.
4. Do the user name mapping ex. xxx@company.com (my powerbi login) to xxx@company.net (whoami /upn)
5. Connect to the data source and return "Something went wrong" message.
6. Export the log with a suspicious message:
[DataMovement.PipeLine.GatewayDataAccess] Replace effective user name in adomd connection string from xxx@company.net to xxx@company.net.
7. The message seems didn't actually doing replacement (company.net vs company.net)
Any idea? Thanks.
ps. I can access the on-premise MS SQL via the gateway.
The link I followed to perform username mapping is
https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-gateway-enterprise-manage-ssas/#map-user-n...
Hi @paulwsc,
Do those two domains have trust domain relationship? If it's trusted, you needn't to add match user name roles in data gateway. See this similar thread: On-Premise Gateway not passing logged in users EffectiveUserName to Analysis Services.
