Hi
im wanting to auto update my report based on an excel file in onedrive.
my issue is i have formatted the table in powerbi desktop yet the im unable to do that same formating in excel or the online version.
the formatting i need is the mainly in the modelling section - image url and web url
http://prntscr.com/g0dejm
im really wanting to just add a new row into the ondrive excel sheet and therefore auto update my report but it seems im unable to do this without doing it only in desktop version.
alternatively i thought i could export from desktop to excel but that doesnt seem an option either?
any ideas would be appreciated.
cheers
Justin

Hi @justinsocialdec,
In Power BI, we can only modeling data in Power BI desktop, like create calculated columns/measures, change column data category. In service, we are not able to do such features. You need to do data modeling in desktop then save the report, publish it to Power BI service.
In Power BI desktop, we can only export visual data to CSV files. But in Power BI service, we can export to Excel as well as CSV files. See: Export data from Power BI visualizations. Besides, we can use Analyze in Excel to use Excel to view and interact with a dataset that we have Power BI. In your scenario, I would suggest you publish the report from desktop to service, then use Export Data to Excel or Analyze in Excel features.
