Enterprise Gateway connecting to Analysis Services

Hello,

My IT was concerned about security so they stuck the Gateway in the DMZ on a VM not joined to the domain. SQL Server and Analysis Services is inside the network and on the domain.  Connections to SQL Server work fine, but not for Analysis Services.  Analysis Services seems to want a domain login, and with the gateway not being on the domain it is giving me errors it can't connect.

Is it possible to connect with the Gateway on a DMZ? If not, what else could I have them do to insure security?

Thanks!

Hi @raancat,

In your scenario, on-premises gateway(Enterprise gateway) needs to be installed on a machine in the same domain as your SSAS server, or in another domain that's trusted, otherwise, you will get errors when connecting to SSAS.

In addition, please review this article about Power BI Security issues.
