Yes, that is what I would generally recommend. Create a measure like SUM ( Table[Column] ).

I assume Calc Stories Uncompleted is a calculated column, correct?
Have you chosen SUM in the column list in your visual? Like this one:
Note, this is not a best practice, since this is creating a so called "implicit measure". A better way to do this is to create an explicit measure on your calculated column and then using this one in your visual.

It is a calculated column on a line graph so it will only aggregate I'm assuming. Are you saying create a measure and use that instead?
