WIll I Lose my Universal Analytics Data Post July 1st?

Hi All,
I have been experimenting with extracting data from Google Analytics predominatley GA4. However I have data that is present on a UA property and I do have the availability to connect to this as a source. I was wondering if I had a file pulling from a UA data source, when all UA data is deleted will I lose this data as a source in Power Bi?

If I understand you right, if you're using import mode in power bi and you imported data from excel, if the excel sheet was deleted, you Won't lose the data in Power BI because it's imported in the software but you can't refresh it.

Hi @b4_1909 As other comments have mentioned, as long as you don't update the report the data will remain there. Based on how your report is set up, you may analyze whether you'll refresh your report at some point or not. On my case, I have reports that constantly need to be refreshed so that won't be a solution. I had to find a way to back up all my UA data somewhere until it gets deleted on July. I managed to export my data to BigQuery using windsor.ai. From there I just connect BigQuery to Power BI where my UA data is stored and I can keep refreshing my reports as usual

Hi @b4_1909 

Just as @Idrissshatila said that you won't lose the data.
If you import the data from the data source, these data will be stored in the data model of the semantic model.

So if you don't refresh the report after deleting all the data of the source, the Universal Analytics Data shouldn't be disappear.

The answer to your question is yes. Because every time you import new data into Excel, you'll also need to update your Power BI file. Now, when old data is deleted from the Excel source and when the Power BI file is updated, the old Power BI data will also be deleted.
